By now you’ve probably started thinking about your intentions, goals, or resolutions for 2026, Aaron.
If you have, great. If you haven’t, that’s okay, too. Either way, here are a few areas worth reflecting on to make sure you’re moving in a direction that actually feels good and sustainable.
Mindset:
Everything starts here. For years, many of us believe that success is for other people, not us. When you shift from asking “Why is this happening to me?” try asking, “What can I learn from this?” things start to change. Your mindset can keep you stuck or help you move forward. You get to decide
Mornings:
Win the morning, win the day. I’ll be honest, I’m not naturally a morning person. But hitting snooze and scrolling before getting out of bed can set the tone for a chaotic day. Try keeping your phone away for the first 30 minutes. Drink some water before coffee. Move your body, even if it’s just a stretch. You don’t need a perfect 5 a.m. routine. You just need consistency. Small changes add up.
Money:
This one matters, whether we like it or not. A simple but powerful step is knowing what comes in and what goes out. One quote that really stuck with me is, “Financial stress kills dreams faster than anything else.” Awareness alone can bring a lot of peace
Movement:
Depression, anxiety, and brain fog are not always just in your head. Sometimes your body needs to move. Here are a few truths worth remembering:
~ A 20 minute walk can clear your head better than hours of overthinking
~ Strength training teaches you that you are capable of hard things
~ Rest days are part of progress
~ Sitting all day takes a toll. As Bill likes to remind us, get up and move one minute, every hour
Meals:
You can’t outwork a poor diet. Food fuels your body. Protein supports energy and recovery. Sugar gives you a quick spike followed by a crash. Water helps everything function better. You don’t need a perfect diet. You need a sustainable one built around habits that actually fit your life.
Mentors:
We all need a coach. The people you spend time with matter more than you think. Surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you. Read books, listen to podcasts from credible sources, or better yet, have real conversations with people who have been where you want to go.
Mission:
Without purpose, we stay busy without making real progress. Ask yourself where your current habits will lead you in five years. If that excites you, keep going. If not, it may be time for an adjustment.
Here’s something important to remember: You don’t lack discipline because you’re weak. Most people struggle because they never built systems that make healthy choices automatic. Real progress comes from building habits that support you.
If you’re ready to create lasting habits around a healthy lifestyle and want accountability along the way, I’d love to help. Schedule a discovery call and we’ll take the next step together.
