It’s hard to believe that tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Curious if you got my tips for how to enjoy the Holidays without derailing your progress last week?
Sometimes it can be helpful to simply be mindful! I like to incorporate these tips all year round!
Did you know mindful eating isn’t about restriction, it’s about awareness?
By slowing down and paying attention, you can enjoy your favorite foods while supporting your health goals.
Here are the 4 stages of mindful eating you can start practicing today:
🌙 Awareness
Notice your hunger cues before reaching for food. Are you truly hungry, or just bored or stressed?
🍴 Presence
Sit down, remove distractions, and fully experience your meal – taste, texture, and smell.
💭 Reflection
Check in halfway through: Are you still hungry? Or already satisfied? This is where overeating often sneaks in.
🙏 Gratitude
End your meal with appreciation. Whether it’s for the food itself, the company, or the nourishment it brings.
Awareness + Reflection = the sweet spot for healthier choices and more satisfaction. Want to improve your relationship with food? Here are a few ways to get started:
-
Put your fork down between bites
Swap “clean plate” pressure for honoring fullness
Choose meals that include protein, veggies, and carbs for balance
-
Pause before dessert, then enjoy it fully if you choose it
Mindful eating transforms the way you experience food and helping you feel satisfied without guilt.
So while we’re being mindful of food, I’d also like to add that at this time of year I like to sit back and reflect on all the things I’m grateful for…… and at the top of the list is YOU, Aaron!
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!
